The Speedmaster is one of OMEGA’s most notorious timepieces, having been a piece of every one of the six lunar missions. Praising that history, this “Blue Side of the Moon” model takes its name from the shade of the deep blue sky. The 44.25 mm chronograph includes a blue ceramic case supplemented by a blue ceramic bezel ring with an OMEGA Ceragold tachymeter scale. It is displayed on a blue calfskin strap with a blue ceramic and ceramised titanium foldover fasten. Most distinctively, the dial is blue aventurine glass and incorporates 18K Sedna gold indexes and hands with a date hand featuring a red tip. At 6 o’clock is the extremely accurate Moonphase function, which highlights a blue enamel aventurine glass Moonphase circle (patent pending) with close and far sides of the moon in Sedna gold. Fueling the timepiece is the OMEGA Master Chronometer Caliber 9904, confirmed at the business’ most astounding standard by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS).
